🌱 Trident United Way’s Days of Caring + Rental Registry Proposal
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Charleston.

Good morning, everybody. It's me, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Charleston Daily — here to explain all the most important things happening in town these days.
But first, today's weather:
A thunderstorm around in the p.m.. High: 79 Low: 58.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Charleston who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Charleston Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:
- Trident United Way's Days of Caring is currently accepting volunteer applications. The year's largest volunteer event will be from Wednesday, Nov. 16 through Friday, Nov. 18. Volunteers will have the opportunity to make a difference through various community service projects. (CHStoday)
- The Charleston City Council will be considering a rental registry for the city. The proposal was deferred by the council in August. The registry would first be implemented for the Cannonborough Elliotborough neighborhood if passed. If successful, the program would be implemented throughout the city. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- The founder of Charleston's Berenyi Inc. is facing more than two dozen felony charges for work done at a Kentucky steel plant. Tony Berenyi has been accused of financial wrongdoings such as money laundering and wire fraud. The indictment is regarding payments made to Jaymin Vinson, a former engineer at the steel plant. Federal prosecutors believe that the $452,125 in payments were kickbacks for steering construction work to Berenyi's engineering firm. (Charleston Post Courier)
