With similar moves in neighboring Chesterfield, local leaders are reacting to a statewide boom in these massive facilities already seen in Rock Hill and other areas, aiming to protect residents from higher utility costs and noise.

SLED Charges Three Chester County Residents in Fatal May 3 Drive By Shooting (wrhi.com) — State agents have charged three Chester County residents in a May 3 drive-by shooting on Pinckney Street in Chester that killed a 16-year-old and injured two other teens. All three suspects are being held without bond at the Chester County Detention Center as SLED, Chester Police, and the Chester County Sheriff’s Office continue investigating and ask residents for any additional tips.

The measure has passed the House and sits in the Senate Judiciary Committee, while sponsors have largely avoided answering questions about costs, racial profiling concerns, and how the program is enforced.
   

4. Could NC residents soon buy canned cocktails at the grocery store? (newsobserver.com) — Lawmakers in North Carolina are debating whether canned cocktails like High Noon could be sold in grocery stores, a change that could affect demand at the Gallo Winery warehouse in Chester County. The proposal would move some sales from ABC stores to retailers, raising concerns about lost local revenue and possible steps toward liquor privatization.
