Laney Jr. has died at 94, leaving a deep legacy in local banking, church life, and civic clubs. Though his graveside inurnment will be in Wilmington on June 20, memorial gifts are invited to St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chesterfield, reflecting his decades of service to the town.
