5 Things To Do On Memorial Day Weekend

Write a thank you card for troops and veterans or a get well card for wounded soldiers this weekend. Just stop by the Operation Thank You tables in the food court at Dutch Square Center on Saturday or Sunday.

Family Fest & Memorial Day Tribute 2012

Head to Finlay Park on Sunday for this outdoor gospel celebration and Memorial Day tribute to veterans and active duty men and women. Artists scheduled to perform include Pastor John P. Kee and Myron Butler. Local and regional musicla acts will also perform. Event starts at 4 p.m.

Palmetto Concert Band Memorial Day Concert

Palmetto Concert Band presents "A Memorial Tribute" with conductors James Copenhaver, William Moody and Scott Weiss. The band will perform several musical selections including "Children's March" by Grainger, "American Civil War Fantasy" by Bilik, and "The Stars and Stripes Forever." This event is free to the public. 

Show your support for local firefighters and police officers by donating blood Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at the American Red Cross donation center.

Looking for something to do on your own schedule? Honor the men and women who died in service by paying a visit to Memorial Park in downtown Columbia. The park features several monuments, including a Vietnam Memorial, Korean War Memorial and Pearl Harbor Memorial.
