• Evans man, 84, killed in head-on crash on Washington Road (augustachronicle.com) — An 84-year-old Evans resident died Wednesday morning after his car crossed into oncoming traffic on Washington Road near Thoroughbred Lane, triggering a multi-vehicle crash. A 37-year-old Evans driver in a GMC Yukon swerved and avoided serious injury, while another motorist from Augusta suffered minor injuries. Authorities are still investigating why the victim’s vehicle entered the wrong lane.
