County Requires Residents to Recycle Electronics

Beginning July 1, State Law mandates that residents recycle all electronics (computers, computer monitors, televisions, printers etc.). Electronics will not be recycling curbside. For your convenience Richland County has two electronic recycling drop‐off locations and hosts recycling events throughout the year:

Saturday 7 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Lower Richland Residential Dropoff Site

Operational hours: Monday-Saturday 8 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Sunday 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

The following materials will be accepted:

 Tires: car and light truck tires or smaller, small tires (e.g. bike or wheel barrow). Limit of 8 per family. 

Household Electronics Computers and computer accessories (keyboards, monitors, printers, scanners) Televisions 40” or smaller – no consoles TV’s, No‐Stereos consoles

Household electronics including VCRs, DVD players, power tools, radios, fax machines, and small appliances, microwave ovens 

Telephones (land and cell), pagers and answering machines 

Scrap metal‐stoves, washers, dryers, bicycles, metal door frames, tal chairs, metal shelves, lawn mowers (must be free of gas and oil) 

Paper shredding

 Bring your old files and documents for shredding.

No commercial materials. Refrigerators and air conditioners will not be accepted. 

No commercial tire dealers.
