  1. Hundreds of seafood lovers from around Columbia came out in droves Saturday to enjoy the 24th annual South Carolina Oyster Festival. The lavish grounds of Historic Columbia's Robert Mills and Hampton Preston houses provided the perfect backdrop for the event. Vendors provided unique goods and services catered to attendees while various bands played, entertaining nearly 200 people enjoying good oysters and food with family and friends. (ColaDaily.com)
  2. Columbia police have found a body of a white male at the massive rock quarry off Bluff Road. Multiple police officers responded to Vulcan Materials Company, which is on Georgia Street. Deputy Chief Melron Kelly with the Columbia Police Department said a SLED helicopter flew over the quarry on Monday morning and the body was discovered while flying about 200 feet above the ground.
