Bachmann Signs Books at Sam's Club on Harbison
The stop in Columbia was just one of many book signings across the state this week.
More than 50 people came to the Sam's Club on Harbison Boulevard Saturday for a book signing with presidential candidate Michele Bachmann.
They picked up copies of her new autobiography "Core of Conviction," which was released Nov. 21.
Some question whether the book, which was released just seven weeks before the Iowa caucuses, is an effort to bring attention back to Bachmann who has been falling in the polls since the summer.Â

But some of Bachmann's supporters who waited in the book-signing line Saturday said her run isn't over.Â
"I think she really has a role to play in this election," said a supporter, who only wanted to be identified as Jan.Â

Jan pointed to Bachmann's work with education in Minnesota and her bill to repeal Obamacare as reasons for supporting the Minnesota congresswoman.
Lexington resident Albert Jabs said he supports Bachmann because, to him, she represents hope.
"She's an answer to the stagnation of the day and the quagmire that we find ourselves in," Jabs said. "She's admirably qualified, but more importantly she understands what it is to raise a family. That's why I'm willing to shift my attention to Michele."
Bachmann's campaign is continuing to build Tea Party support in South Carolina, with . Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has also built a following among Tea Party members recently.Â
Glenn Wilson, a memeber of the Columbia TEA Party and a Bachmann supporter, said it's difficult to say which candidate will gain the backing of the majority of Tea Party members.
"The Tea Party is a very independent-minded group," Wilson said. "We really do have a wide variety of people. So, it's hard to say who will gain more support from the Tea Party."
But Wilson said his choice is Bachmann.
"There are a lot of good candidates I could support, but the best one is Michele," he said. "She's strong, she's smart and she won't quit."
