New Kid on the Block

A few words from the "New Kid" in the St. Andrews community.

I'm coming up on my one year anniversary at St. Andrews Baptist. I guess you could say I'm the new kid on the block.  Last year I was called here as the Minister of Students.  What does that title mean?  It means I get to spend my time hanging out with middle, high, and college students.

It's a pretty neat job, serving as Minister of Students.  One of the things I enjoy the most about it is getting to work alongside 3 awesome ministers.  Fred DeFoor is our Minister of Music, he's been at SABC about as long as I've been alive!  Sharon King is our Minister of Congregational Development, she holds things together around the office while we're in an interim (that means we're looking for a full time pastor).  Our Minister of Children, Katie Vance is my best friend from Divinity school.  She joined staff in May of this year.  So, that's our team right now and I love every minute of ministering alongside them!

I plan on trying to blog for Patch about once a week.  I'll share either something God's been teaching me, events coming up in the life of SABC, or highlight a community ministry going on at our church to touch the St. Andrews community.
