Chandler Herndon, 13, wins Kohl's Cares Scholarship

I am excited to share that Chandler Herndon, a youth from Bennettsville, has been recognized with a $1,000 scholarship toward higher education by the Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Program for making a positive impact in his community through volunteerism.

 

Chandler qualifies for the chance to receive a total of $10,000 in scholarships for higher education. In total this year, Kohl’s will recognize young volunteers with more than $400,000 in scholarships and prizes.

Six years ago, Chandler, who was born three months premature, was asked to serve as the Ambassador for the March of Dimes. That’s when Chandler started his fundraising team Chandler’s Chain Gang raising more than $40,000 for the March of Dimes.
