Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators have arrested a 57-year-old male accused of breaking into a Beaumont Avenue home and setting it on fire this week.

An officer located Michael Masterson McClellan (DOB: 2/1964) this afternoon at a Lester Drive home. McClellan is being charged with Burglary – First Degree and Arson – Second Degree.

McClellan is accused of unlawfully entering the victim’s home at the 3400 block of Beaumont Avenue and committing arson. Thankfully, no one was home at the time of the crime but the fire damaged the victim’s personal belongings. Columbia Fire Department (CFD) crews extinguished the flames.

In 2018, McClellan was charged with Arson -Second Degree and Burglary – First Degree after he allegedly broke into a vacant home at the 3500 block of Beaumont Avenue on May 5, 2018 and intentionally set multiple fires.
