Guide to Voting: Columbia City Council Election

Voters will head to the polls Tuesday to elect new council members for Columbia's at-large, District 2 and District 3 seats.

A list of the nine candidates in the running is below. 

Voters who live in the St. Andrews and Irmo areas can find their precinct and polling location below.

Registered voters who don't know their precinct, can enter their county and name on the S.C. Election Commission website to find their precinct. This will also let voters know which city council district they live in.

Polls will be open between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. 

Voters should bring one of three types of identification: a voter registration card, a S.C. driver's license or a S.C. ID card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

District 2:

• Nammu Y. Muhammad, retired electrician and engineering technician
• Brian DeQuincey Newman, attorney and current District 2 councilman

District 3:

• Moe Baddourah, restaurant owner
• Daniel Coble, law student and son of former Columbia Mayor Bob Coble 
• Jennifer Isgett, attorney
• Michael Miller, dropped out of the race and now supports Coble, according to a story in The State.

At-large seat:

• Joseph S. Azar, Five Points businessman
• John Robert Bolchoz, Jr., attorney and former chief deputy attorney general for S.C.
• Cameron Runyan, financial adviser
