Columbia Comic Creators Visit Heroes & Dragons
Local comic book store hosts signing with Columbia comic artists and writers.
Anthony Hightower tells stories through comics.Â
"I love art and I love the medium of comics," said Hightower, a Columbia comic artist. "I think it's such a great outlet for telling stories."Â
Hightower was at comic book store Wednesday to sign copies of his work. Steven Prouse and Chuck Brown, Columbia comic writers, were also at the store to sign their work.Â

"It's a good way for us to interact with fans and to put our faces out there to people who don't normally see our work," Hightower said.Â
The three comic creators are members of 803 Studios, a group that publishes anthologies of comics together.Â

Steven Prouse signed copies of his graphic novel, "Coin Operated Boy." Prouse graduated from USC with a degree in media arts. He also published a series of comics called "Knowledge is Power."Â
Chuck Brown had copies of "Rotten Apple" available. Brown graduated from Benedict College and has been writing for 10 years. He will soon have a web comic on mtv.com/geek.Â
Hightower signed copies of "Gutwrencher," which features his artwork.Â
"It's kind of a slasher comic or a horror about a guy who goes on a rampage at his high school reunion and a group of friends who fight to survive the reunion," Hightower said.Â
