Players practiced drills despite the record-high temperatures Wednesday.

The Columbia Capitals hit the field Wednesday for one of their first days of practice this season. 

Temperatures reached the 100s Wednesday, so players made sure to stay hydrated. The hot, dry weather also caused . 

Despite the weather, Head Coach Kemper Amick and assistant coaches led drills on the field to prepare players for the season. The team's first game is against Lower Richland on Aug. 19. For a complete schedule, click here.
