Columbia High's Star Receiver Selected for Shrine Bowl

More than 40 players around the state will participate in the 2011 Shrine Bowl game.

Columbia High Capitals wide receiver Casey Gladney will be on the South Carolina team for the 2011 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.

He will join 43 other players from around the state in an all-star football game that pits South Carolina's best senior high school players against North Carolina's.

Gladney, who committed to Alabama in June, has had 12 touchdowns and 826 yards this season.

Columbia High Coach Kenneth Schofield will also be participating in the Shrine Bowl as the receivers coach.

The 75th annual Shrine Bowl will be held at Gibbs Stadium at Wofford College in Spartanburg on Dec. 17. The game begins at 1 p.m. 

Tickets can be ordered online for $15 or can be bought at the gate on game day for $20.
