Columbia Police Looking for Shooting Suspect

Incident took place in Columbia early Sunday morning.

Columbia Police said Sunday they were looking for a shooting suspect in an incident that stemmed from an early morning argument.

A man reportedly was shot in the calf about 2 a.m. Sunday near the corner of Sumter and Pendleton streets downtown. The victim is OK and has since been released from the hospital, according to WIS.

Witnesses told police two groups of people were involved in a verbal and physical fight at a hookah lounge on Sumter Street before the shooting occurred. Police say the suspect broke a bottle over the victim's head inside the lounge, the station reported.

The suspect is described as a black male with a "mini afro," last seen wearing a green shirt with the a big, white letter "L" on the front. He was also seen wearing white Air Force One Nike tennis shoes. Police consider him armed and dangerous.
