Deputies Arrest 19-year-old for Burglary, Larceny

An investigation continues into multiple incidents in the area.

Richland County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 19-year-old and two juveniles Wednesday in connection with a burglary and a larceny in the St. Andrews area.

Marquil Ball was charged with second-degree burglary, larceny and receiving stolen goods, according to the booking records at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. 

Ball was arrested at the Red Roof Inn at 10 Berryhill Road in St. Andrews around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Deputy Curtis Wilson said. The two juveniles were also arrested at the hotel.

Investigators believe they can tie Ball to other incidents in the area, Wilson said. More information will be released next week, he said.

Deputies believe Ball and the two juveniles were involved in a burglary at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday at 1403 Menlo Drive, Wilson said. Deputies believe they were also involved in the theft of items from a vehicle Tuesday on Old Manor Road.

Most of the stolen items from those incidents were recovered during the arrest, Wilson said. 

Ball is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. His bond is set at $40,000 for the burglary charge and $2,130 for receiving stolen goods valued at less than $1,000.
