Deputies arrested three men in the 2005 murder of a Columbia man at on Fernandina Road, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced Tuesday.
Antonio Corbitt was found murdered outside of his apartment on Oct. 27, 2005, according to the sheriff's department. The three men are accused of kicking in Corbitt's door, assaulting him, and shooting and killing him in front of his 8-year-old son.
Gregg Isaac, 25, Tavares World, 34, and Vernoris Dixon, 36, were arrested this month and charged with criminal conspiracy, robbery, burglary and murder, according to the sheriff's department.

A partial fingerprint recovered during the initial investigation led deputies to the three men, Lott said. The sheriff's department didn't have the staff and the technology to identify the fingerprint at the time of the murder, Lott said.
Corbitt's family was at the sheriff's department for a press conference Thursday.

Antonio Corbitt's mother, Sonya Corbitt, said she was overwhelmed when Lott called her to tell her the men had been arrested.
"I used to have dreams of my son telling me 'Mom, never give up,'" she said. "I dropped the phone. This is the call I had been waiting for all these years."
