Deputies Arrest Midlands Tech Constable
The constable was charged with unlawfully carrying a pistol.

A Midlands Technical College state constable was arrested early Tuesday after deputies found a pistol in the car he was driving.Â
Errol Rochester Jr., 36, is charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol.Â
Richland County Sheriff's Deputies on patrol on Bush River Road approached Rochester around 3:30 a.m. because his car was parked in the middle of the road between Lawand Drive and Latonea Drive near , according to the sheriff's department. The headlights were off, and he and a woman were sitting in the car, deputies said.

Deputies searched the car and found a pistol under the seat.Â
Rochester was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
