Discount Furniture Opens on Broad River Road

For Dwayne and John Houston, the furniture business runs in the family. 

The two brothers grew up around their mother's store, Sissy's Furniture, in Columbia Place Mall on Two Notch Road. They also each own a furniture store in the Columbia area.

Friday, the doors opened at their new store, Discount Furniture, on Broad River Road near Greystone Boulevard. 

The store sells closeout items that are ususally below the wholesale cost, the brothers said. They also make special orders for customers. 

They had a good flow of traffic for the first day, John Houston said. The official grand opening will take place in a couple of weeks when they get some more inventory. 

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The phone number is 803-731-1704.
