Drug Suspect Shoots at Deputy
Deputies fired back at the suspect, hitting him in the lower back.

Richland County Sheriff's deputies fired shots at a drug suspect after he fired at them at a Broad River Road apartment complex Thursday.Â
Frederick Withers II, 25, shot at narcotics agents who were trying to search his apartment at Brook Pines Apartments, according to the sheriff's department.Â
The bullet grazed one deputy's pants leg, but didn't injure him, according to the sheriff's department.

Deputies fired back, hitting Withers in the lower body, according to the sheriff's department. He was treated at Palmetto Helath Richland.Â
Withers is now being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on an attempted murder charge. He also faces charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, according to the sheriff's department.
