EdVenture holds Olympic-Style Games for Kids

Columbia’s EdVenture children’s museum will offer more than a week of competitive games for kids in honor of the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Each day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., children can compete in Olympic-style events such as high jump, long jump, basketball, Nerf archery, badminton and the water balloon shot put, to name a few.
Admission to the EdLympics is included with a regular admission ticket. The games offer children a fun way to compete and test their athletic abilities and strength.

Saturday: High/long jump, basketball, Eddie’s Big Climb, triathlon
Sunday: Sailing, high/long jump, basketball
Monday: Squirt gun shooting, high/long jump, basketball
Tuesday: Balance beam, water balloon shot put, squirt gun shooting, high/long jump, basketball, javelin throw
Wednesday: squirt gun shooting, high/long jump, basketball
Thursday: Nerf archery, high/long jump, basketball
Friday: badminton, high/long jump, basketball, sailing
Aug. 4: Noodle fencing, Nerf archery, javelin throw, water balloon shot put, high/long jump, basketball (special performance: Palmetto fencers at 1 p.m.)
Regular admission tickets are $11.50 for both adults and children.
