The Point of View Film Series at Tapp's Art Center will screen Jean Cocteau's timeless fairy tale, La Belle et la Bête (Beauty and the Beast, 1946). Those familiar with the story of a young peasant girl, Belle, who, in order to save the life of her father, must learn to love a monstrous beast, will no doubt find similarity. But this version from Cocteau, a multi-talented writer, painter, and filmmaker, is perhaps more than any other, enchanted with that thrilling sense of make-believe.
La Belle et la Bête is the fourth film in the P.O.V. Series which meets the SECOND THURSDAY of each MONTH in the Skyline Room of Tapp's Art Center to discuss films of varying eras, styles, and genres from around the world.
