
Richland Library, IT-oLogy, EdVenture Children’s Museum and the Columbia Museum of Art are co-sponsoring a weekend “Day of Civic Hacking,” beginning this Saturday.
Seminars on blogging and web design, “data manipulation,” and information technology jobs begin at 10 a.m. on Sat. June 1, and a “Super Happy Block Party” featuring food and live music takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, too.
On Sunday, a breakfast starts at 9 a.m., and an awards presentation beginning at 1 p.m. will close the event.

The seminars, which intend to teach the public how to use the Internet to make communities more transparent and accessible, will be held at four different-but-nearby locations in Columbia.
The event is part of a “National Day of Civic Hacking,” taking place in over 100 cities in 30 U.S. states.
