  1. The Harbison Fall Festival held by the Columbia Police Department is this weekend Saturday, Oct. 30. Get free food, win door prizes, play some games, and trick-or-treat. The event will be held at Columbiana Circle, through the Dillards entry. Wear your best costumes for the costume contest from 6:30-7 p.m! (Abccolumbia.com)
  2. St. Anns Alley officials announced yesterday the final phase of construction is officially underway for the urban in-town community of single-family homes in the West Columbia River District. Phase III will include the final 11 homes in the development of 34 homes and one live-work unit. Construction has started on five of the Phase III homes, with plans for the final six to begin in the next few months. The community is bounded by Center, Spring, Herman, and Augusta streets.   3. A local store owner is finding ways to spruce up Columbia's Booker Washington Heights neighborhood by adding a weekly produce stand. On Wednesdays, The Dollar Sto' on Farrow Road in Columbia sees upwards of a hundred people at its produce stand. Owner Brian Thomasis hoping to bridge food security gaps by serving the neighborhood he grew up in. (WACH.com)
