🌱 Fire At Veteran Care Home + Biking, Walking Networks To Expand

  1. One person is dead and several others were displaced after a fire at a veteran care home on Moolah Drive, according to Columbia-Richland Fire Department officials. The department responded to the call around 9 p.m. Friday. When their units arrived, they say the home was "engulfed" in flames. Chief Aubrey D. Jenkins says the home was already 70% to 75% burned.(WIS10)
  2. Columbia is working to connect various greenway segments into one network that will allow users to walk or bike from the riverfronts in West Columbia and Cayce to museums in downtown Columbia, the Five Points entertainment district and shops, and minor league baseball at BullStreet. (Charleston Post Courier)
  3. Columbia residents will soon have the opportunity to share in some holiday cheer and festive cocktails on Main Street through a partnership between Prohibition and Miracle Pop-Up. (WIS10)
  4. Blythewood's Camp Discovery plans to "plant" a hammock forest. The camp plans to set up 36 hammocks in several pods under the shaded area bordering the pollinator garden and in the forest trail near the ropes course. (ColaDaily.com)
