3:30 p.m. at Hilton Field at Fort Jackson
Bring your lawn chair and blanket to this celebration. The 282nd Army Band will perform at 8 p.m., followed by The Salute to the Nation ceremony at 9 p.m. The night will finish with a 30-minute fireworks display. Get there early for the opening of the concessions stands and kid's play area at 4 p.m. Enter through Gates 2, 4 or 5.Â

Saturday
City of Columbia Independence Day Celebration
3 p.m. at Finlay Park, 930 Laurel St.Â
This event will feature an arts & crafts show, food vendors, as well as karaoke, bounce houses and face painting for kids. Music by The Entertainers starts at 8 p.m. The night ends with a fireworks show at 10 p.m. All activities are free. Food and beverages are available for purchase.Â
4th of July Celebration: Families, Freedom & Fireworks
12:30 p.m. at Drehr Island State Park, 3677 State Park Rd., Prosperity, SC
The boat parade on Lake Murray starts at 12:30 p.m. To view the parade, go to the park at the Lake Murray Dam. Enjoy the fireworks show starting around 9:15 p.m. View the show from the Lake Murray Dam parks or the Drehr Island State Park.
Lake Murray Dam parks:Â $3 per car and $2 per motorcycle
Drehr Island State Park: $2 for adults, $1.25 for SC seniors, free for 15 and under
75th Anniversary Miss South Carolina Pageant
7 p.m. at the Township Auditorium, 1703 Taylor St.Â

Fireworks with the Columbia Blowfish
Capital City Stadium, 301 South Assembly St.
Enjoy a baseball game and fireworks Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights at the Columbia Blowfish games. Children can play catch with the players on the field before the game. Purchase your tickets here. Â
