Fuel Media Holdings, one of the fastest growing out-of-home media companies in the U.S., has signed a new transit advertising contract with the Santee-Wateree Regional Transportation Authority (SWRTA). The multi-year agreement will give FUEL the exclusive right to sell exterior transit advertising and other outdoor advertising spaces. SWRTA is the public transportation provider in Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee and Sumter counties. It provides fixed route bus and ADA services in the City of Sumter, with shuttle services to Cherryvale and Shaw Air Force Base communities.

FUEL’s partnership with SWRTA means greater opportunities for local and regional businesses to gain additional exposure through highly visible outdoor transit advertising throughout the Tri-county area. It includes impactful and targeted ads on bus wraps and bus benches on SWRTA fixed routes and vehicles.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for FUEL. We are very excited about our new partnership with the Santee-Wateree Regional Transportation Authority,” says Cheryl Anderson, Vice President/Co-Owner, FUEL Media Holdings. “We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with SWRTA, and we look forward to helping businesses expand their advertising footprint with unbeatable customer reach and frequency.”

The transit advertising business is a growing outdoor media platform. The advertising dollars invested by businesses enhances the ability to deliver massive reach to potential customers. The consumer is not required to subscribe or turn on anything to engage with the outdoor advertising message.

Currently, SWRTA provides different types of transportation services in six of the 46 counties within the state. It offers paratransit services in two counties, and fixed route services in Orangeburg, Lee and Sumter with routes extending onto Shaw AFB. SWRTA also has commuter services operating from Sumter going into Columbia and from Calhoun to the city of Orangeburg.

“Words cannot express how elated we are to start seeing advertising on our transit vehicles located in the Santee Lynches Region, along with our contracted services located in Orangeburg and Calhoun counties,” says Lottie Jones, Executive Director Santee-Wateree Regional Transportation Authority. “Funds generated from the advertisements will provide another source of revenue, which will open up an opportunity for the expansion of new value-added services in the future.”

Thanks to FUEL’s successful partnership with SWRTA, organizations throughout Sumter, Kershaw, Lee, Clarendon, Orangeburg, and Calhoun counties will experience greater opportunities to gain additional exposure through effective outdoor transit advertising. SWTA looks forward to expanding its reach with businesses and organizations on a local and regional level, while increasing overall visibility in collaboration with Fuel Outdoor Media.
