Guide to Holiday Donating in St. Andrews

Feel like spreading some holiday cheer this season? Cleaning out your home to make room for holiday guests?

St. Andrews Patch has compiled a list of places you can donate new and used items during the holidays. From dropping off used clothing at Goodwill to picking up a new toy at the store for Toys for Tots, these are simple ways you can donate during this busy time of year. 

Goodwill 

What to donate: clothing, housewares, furniture, computers

How your donations help: Donations to Goodwill support the job training and placement programs designed to help people prepare for, acquire, and be successful in employment.

Salvation Army

What to donate: used clothes, toys, books, housewares, furniture, appliances

How your donations help: Income generated by the Salvation Army Family Store supports programs for the homeless and families living in poverty. The Salvation Army works with social services programs to provide families in need (fire victims and homeless people establishing permanent residences) with vouchers they can use to shop in the store.

Note: The Salvation Army will also pick up donations such as furniture, electronics, appliances and clothes. Call 803-748-9964. 

D.A.R.E. Clothing Dropoff

What to donate: used clothes, shoes, belts, purses, stuffed animals, linens, curtains

How your donations help: Proceeds from the items sold go to supporting local D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) programs.

How your donations help: Toys will be donated to families who can't afford Christmas presents for their children.
