H.B. Rhame's Anti-Bullying Video Featured at National Conference

A music video created by a first-grade class is being featured at the Bullying Prevention Summit.

Students at H.B. Rhame Elementary know where to turn when faced with bullying, thanks to an anti-bullying music video.

The video, produced by the school's music teacher, a first-grade class and a choreographer, lends these helping words to students who are bullied: "make a plan, take a stand, seek a helping hand."

"Respect - Don't Bully!" is being featured at the second annual Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Summit in Washington, D.C. Wednesday and Thursday.

The summit, which is sponsored by the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools and the U.S. Department of Education, brings together governmental and nongovernmental organizations to discuss how to combat bullying.

Andy Shull, the music teacher at H.B. Rhame, wrote the song last spring. Stehpanie Gold-King, the dance teacher at Columbia High School, worked with Sherri Long's first-grade class to choreograph the music video.
