Update: Broad River Road Bridge Now Open
The bridge closed Tuesday night after heavy rain caused a piece of construction equipment to shift.

The Broad River Road bridge re-opened Thursday morning after being closed for more than a day due to concerns about a piece of construction equipment that was affected by heavy rain.
Contractors working on a construction project to replace the bridge said rainfall from Tuesday night caused the river levels to rise, and a crane sitting on a platform in the river shifted.Â
Transportation officials are worried that the crane could fall across the bridge.Â
