Update: Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Killed on Broad River Road

The collision happened around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to the highway patrol.

A pedestrian was killed Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle on Broad River Road near I-20, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Marion J. Bussey, 58, of 1029 Briargate Circle died at the scene, said Richland County Coroner Gary Watts. 

Bussey was hit around 7:20 p.m. across from an Exxon gas station on Broad River Road, according to the highway patrol website.

The highway patrol and their Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) are investigating the incident.

EMS, the Columbia-Richland Fire Department, state troopers and deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department were still at the scene around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
