Update: Irmo Man Dies in Weekend Wreck
State troopers are looking for a vehicle that possibly caused the wreck.

Update, 2:48 p.m. Jan. 9: An Irmo man died in a wreck on Interstate 20 Saturday, according to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.
Norris R. Scott, 54, was ejected from a vehicle that overturned on I-20 near the Clemson Road exit, Watts said. He died around 4 p.m. at Palmetto Richland Hospital.Â
Original story, 1:18 p.m. Jan. 8:Â The South Carolina Highway Patrol is looking for a white vehicle, possibly a Buick, that may have been involved in a fatal accident on Interstate 20 near the Clemson Road exit Saturday.Â

Cathy Scott, 51, who was injured in the accident, was driving a GMC Yukon just after 3 p.m. in a westbound lane of I-20, Trooper Judd Jones said. She swerved to miss a second vehicle that came into her lane, causing her vehicle to run off the road and overturn.
A 54-year-old male passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt was thrown out of the vehicle and died, Judd said.Â

Scott and another passenger in the vehicle, Carol Browder, 51, of Lexington were taken to Palmetto Richland Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Judd said. Both women were wearing seatbelts.Â
The highway patrol is investigating the incident. Troopers are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the wreck and may have seen the white vehicle that possibly swerved into Scott's lane to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
