Income Tax Assistance Offered for Last-Minute Filers

South Carolina Department of Revenue employees will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Monday, April 15, for taxpayers to pick up or drop off state tax forms.

The South Carolina Department of Revenue is offering assistance through its annual tax forms drive-thru service to those taxpayers who have not file their state income taxes.

Staff members will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Monday, April 15, for taxpayers to pick up or drop off state tax forms, the department said in a release.

The deadline to file income taxes is midnight on Monday.

Taxpayers can visit the department's main office at 300A Outlet Pointe Boulevard, Columbia for help with filing.                   

While the tax deadline is April 15, taxpayers have until May 1, 2013, to file state tax returns when filing electronically, according to the release. This filing extension applies only to electronically-filed state income tax returns.
