  1. The American Association of Nurse Practitioners recently honored the University of South Carolina nursing students and staff for their service during the pandemic. Faculty and students have volunteered nearly 7,000 hours to vaccinate South Carolinians. 736 students and staff answered the call to deliver COVID-19 vaccines at nine different Midlands vaccination sites.   2. Pawmetto Lifeline at 1275 Bower Parkway is at full capacity and is holding a special "Kitten Palooza" adoption event to help relieve the crisis-level number of homeless cats. Kittens and cats can be adopted for $25 through today. Adopters are encouraged to fill out an adoption application online beforehand to reduce their wait time upon arrival. (WLTX.com)
