Lady Capitals Lose State Championship Title
Columbia High women's basketball team started strong but ended up losing to Bishop England 43-41.

Despite leading throughout the whole game, the Columbia High lady Capitals came short of winning the state championship title as they fell behind in the last couple minutes of play.Â
The Capitals had the 41-40 lead towards the end of the fourth quarter but were not able to score any points after that.Â
Bishop England took the 42-41 lead with a little more than one minute left on the clock, and ended up winning 43-41.

It is the first time the lady Battling Bishops won the state championship and the first time in history that a team won undefeated. They finished the season with a 28-0 record.Â
Columbia High, on the other hand, has won four state championships in the past, and this was the ninth time they've reached the finals. They finished their season with a record of 23-5.Â
