Update: Coroner Identifies Moped Driver Killed on I-20

A 43-year-old Columbia woman died after her moped was struck by a pickup truck on Interstate 20 near Broad River Road early Tuesday morning, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Stacie S. Walker-Britt of Bayview Drive died of multiple trauma around 1 a.m., said Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.

Walker-Britt pulled out from the emergency lane on Interstate 20 westbound in front of a pickup truck, troopers said. 

The truck could not avoid hitting her, troopers said. She was not wearing a helmet, and died at the scene.
