New Pre-Owned Apple® Device Business Experimac Comes To Columbia

On February 21st, Mike Fields, 59, will begin leveraging his decades of managerial and customer service experience to run Experimac, the new concept that provides pre-owned computers and devices; repair and upgrade services for laptops, phones and tablets; trade-ins of existing devices; and sales of accessories, to Columbia. Located at 1260 Bower Parkway in Columbiana Place, Fields, along with the help of his wife Kristine, they will bring the newest concept from industry veteran United Franchise Group to serve customers throughout Columbia by providing popular Apple® devices at prices far below retail prices.

For almost three decades, Mike worked as an Area Support Manager and Regional Manager with Sodexo. His work covered a 15-state area, focusing on training, and supporting the management teams at Colleges and Universities. Looking to open his own business and be closer to their family, Mike and Kristine moved to Columbia from Indiana to open their Experimac.

“Corporate America has undergone many changes over the last decade,” said Mike. “I decided that I wanted to take what I have learned and open my own business. I have always enjoyed the customer service aspect and computers have always been my passion, so Experimac seemed like perfect fit.”

The newest addition to the United Franchise Group, a family of brands that includes industry standouts such as Signarama, EmbroidMe and SuperGreen Solutions, Experimac is backed by a reputation of business success. This, said Mike, gave him confidence in the concept as a viable career choice.

“Any business is only as good as its reputation, especially a relatively new one,” Mike said. “The knowledge that Experimac, though a newer concept, comes courtesy of those with decades of experience building businesses, was more than enough to put my mind at ease that this was a sustainable business venture. I’m looking forward to bringing the hottest new devices to a broad range of customers”
