Police End Day's Search for Missing Toddler

Federal, local and state officers spent six hours searching a wooded area of northwest Richland County for toddler Amir Jennings who has been missing since Thanksgiving, according to multiple news reports. 

The officers were searching an area near a church off of Brick Iron Road near Monticello Road based on a tip, but by 3 p.m. they had called off the search, according to a report in The State newspaper.

Amir Jennings has been . His mother, Zinah Jennings, has been in jail on child cruelty charges since Christmas Eve. 

Court records show that Zinah Jennings is now pregnant and has been declared "mentally ill," according to a report from WIS.

Officers say the investigation into Amir Jennings' whereabouts will continue.
