Residents Recycle Electronics

Richland County is accepting televisions, computers and other electronics.

Richland County is helping residents get rid of unwanted electronics and paper with a  Saturday.

Residents can drop off electronics in the parking lot of Dutch Square Mall between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The county also set up a paper shredding service.

The South Carolina legislature passed a law in May 2010 that made it illegal for residents to dispose of their electronics in landfills. The law also requires manufacturers of electronics to offer recycling events.
