Richland County Offers Fun, Educational Event for Children

Children can climb in fire trucks and ambulances, learn about animal care and jump on inflatable playgrounds from Monkey Joe's at Richland County's free event Thursday. 

It's not too late to register for "." The fun starts at 9 a.m. at Dutch Square Mall Thursday. This year's theme is "Navigating Your Way Through Richland County." 

Children ages six to 12 can sign up to learn about Richland County government in a fun environment. Staff from Riverbanks Zoo's Edventure program will be there to teach children about animals. Students can also learn about insects with the county's bug man.

The event includes a free lunch. Click here to register.

About 1,500 children attended last year's "Richland 101" at Dutch Square Center.
