Richland One Celebrates Reading With Celebrities

Students and parents can celebrate reading, meet celebrities and get free health screenings.

Richland One will hold an event with celebrity appearances, dance performances and, of course, free books — all to celebrate the importance of reading.

The district invites students and family members to its literary extravaganza, "Reading Rocks Our Mind, Body and Soul," Saturday at W.G. Sanders Middle School from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Visitors can meet local and national authors, including author and illustrator R. Gregory Christie and author Rose Rock, who is also the mother of comedian Chris Rock.
