Richland One Seniors Earn $52.5M in Scholarships
Several Richland One graduates win prestigious national scholarships.

The class of 2011 set a new Richland One district record.
The 1,500 graduates earned $52.5 million in scholarship offers and financial aid, according to information released by the State Department of Education Wednesday. Â
The senior class total for the state reached more than $966 million. The state started tracking scholarship totals nine years ago, and the numbers have been increasing ever since. The Richland One class of 2007 had just $40.7 million in scholarships.Â

Richland One includes eight high schools: Columbia, A.C. Flora, Dreher, Eau Claire, Heyward, C.A. Johnson, Keenan and Lower Richland.Â

In St. Andrews, Columbia High student Kimberly R. Gillens was awarded the $2,500 National Achievement Scholarship.
