Richland One to Hold Educational Strategies Conference
The fifth annual Closing the Achievement Gap Conference is March 24.

Richland One teachers and parents will hear from a well-known educational consultant and author at the district's fifth annual Closing the Achievement Gap Conference on March 24.
Marcia Tate, the featured presenter, will talk about strategies that help students retain key concepts — even after tests. Her most recent book, "Worksheets Don't Grow Dendrites: 20 Instructional Strategies That Engage the Brain," focuses on the same topic.Â
Other workshop speakers will include Joe Martin, one of the nation’s leading experts on new teacher retention and student motivational issues, and South Carolina native Jim Littlejohn, a consultant in the areas of conflict and anger management, classroom management and peer mediation.
