Riverbanks Zoo to Host Summer ZOOvie Nights

Zoo members can enjoy a preview movie night this Friday.

Grab a lawn chair and head to Riverbanks Zoo for family-friendly outdoor movies this summer. 

The zoo will hold movie screenings in the Palmetto Plaza on select Fridays in June and July. 

Families can enjoy some of the zoo's attractions before the show starts. While most of the animals will be sleeping, Riverbanks’ Endangered Species Carousel, Spots n’ Stripes Railroad and Wild Adventures Climbing Wall will be open until 8:30 p.m. each ZOOvie Night. Concessions also will be available for purchase.

ZOOvie nights will be held June 8, 15 and 29, and July 6, 13 and 27. Admission is $3 for Riverbanks members and $5 for the general public. Tickets are available at the main Zoo entrance only. Gates open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at dusk.

Zoo members are invited to a special ZOOvie Night preview during the first Members’ Night of the summer on Friday, May 25.

Starting at 6 p.m., members will have the opportunity to explore the park, learn about birds and enjoy a special “Wings of the South” presentation. Afterwards, an animated, bird-themed ZOOvie will begin at dusk.

Movie Schedule: 

May 25: Happy Feet Two (Riverbanks Zoo members only. Starts at 6 p.m.)

For all of the following movie nights, the zoo opens at 7 p.m. and the movie starts at dusk.

June 8: Curious George 

June 15: Zookeeper 

June 29: Puss in Boots

July 6: Kung Fu Panda

July 13: Dolphin Tales

July 27: Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
