Saluda River Water Level to Rise

River-goers should be extra careful Thursday and Friday.

Anyone planning to enjoy the warm weather on or near the Saluda River Thursday and Friday should use extra caution.

SCE&G plans to release water from the Lake Murray Dam, pushing the river level higher than normal. The releases are scheduled through 5 p.m. Thursday and from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

Water levels can rise or fall well after the releases, according to the SCE&G website. People using the river should be careful throughout the day Thursday and Friday because the release times are approximate.
