Conditions Unsafe for Swimming in Saluda River
SCE&G started releasing water from the Lake Murray dam around 4 p.m.

SCE&G started releasing water from the Lake Murray dam into the Saluda River this afternoon, according to a report in The State.
Around 4 p.m. water started flowing from the dam at 9,000 cubic feet per second, making swimming, tubing or kayaking in the Saluda River dangerous.
Rain from thunderstorms this afternoon could worsen the conditions in the river.Â
