School Board Member Named to '20 Under 40' List

A Richland One school board member was recognized as one of the Midlands' rising leaders.

Aaron Bishop's commitment to education landed him a spot on The State newspaper's "20 Under 40" list, which recognizes 20 of the Midlands' rising leaders under the age of 40.

Bishop, vice chair of the Richland One School Board, represents election district one on the school board, which includes St. Andrews.

He is also the Senior Corporate Education Liaison for Phoenix University and the Pastor of Grace Christian Church.

One of Bishop's first endeavors in the education world started years ago when he created The Talented Tenth group, an organization that gave students the opportunity to be successful.

"The reason why this was important to me is because someone gave me an opportunity," Bishop told The State. "I am just a usual individual appointed to do unusual things."
