Sheriff's Department Seeks Arsonist

Department investigating suspicious fire believed to have been intentionally set on Monday.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying suspect wanted for arson. 

Sheriff Leon Lott said deputies responded to a suspicious fire supposedly set sometime around 4:05 a.m. on Monday, at 109 Sagemont Road. 

Lott said that deputies made contact with the Richland County Fire Marshal on the scene, who stated that there was evidence the fire was intentionally set. No injuries were reported and no one was home at the time of the incident.

Lott is asking for assistance in identifying those responsible. To receive up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person, or persons, responsible, contact CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
