Sheriff's Deputy Wins 'One Man Army'

The TV show puts participants through challenges of speed, strength and intelligence.

A Richland County Sheriff's deputy was put to the test in a three-part competition of power, endurance and intelligence.

Scott Puckett competed in Discovery Channel's "One Man Army," a TV show that combines extreme sports, elite military and special operatives. 

Puckett, a former Marine, went up against three competitors — a former U.S. Navy Seal, a SWAT officer and an Israeli Secret Service operative — and won.

The TV show, hosted by a former U.S. Army Special forces veteran, puts participants through three challenges, eliminating one competitor after each round. The last one standing wins the $10,000 prize. 

Sheriff Leon Lott recognized Puckett for successfully using "his mind and body to overcome some extreme obstacles and opposition" during the competition.

He congratulated Puckett for "epitomizing what every law enforcement officer should strive to be: prepared mentally and physically to serve our citizens."
